Category: Post-Colonial Theory

This academic framework refers to the body of work that examines the economic, political and cultural impacts of colonialism/imperialism. While used interchangeably, post-colonial and decolonial frameworks are distinct. The former emerged among the works of South and West Asian scholars situating the colonial biases in perceptions of the colonised, the latter emerged in Latin America studying the continued hierarchies of power mirroring imperialist extraction.
